    • It appears that Johann Jacob was named after Jacob Fries, one of the witnesses/sponsors at his baptism.

      The following Jacob Fries's are recorded in st. Michael's Evangelical Lutheran Church 1745-1841 by Frederick S Weiser and Debra D. Smith.

      1) 1810 February 20 - Jacob Fries from White Marsh Township, Montgomery County, and Margretha Diehl from Plymouth from Plymouth, both single, were married here (pg 71).

      2) 1765 November 28 - buried Martin Jacob, little son of Jacob and Margaretha Fries, aged 6 months, 2 week, 2 days (pg 116).

      3)1770 January 10 - Jacobina Elisabetha, little daughter of Jacob Fries was buried here, aged 1 year, 2 months less 3 days (pg 121).

      4) 1803 June 21 - Jacob Fries was buried on the lower end, aged 73 years, 6 months (pg 157)

      5) 1773 April 9 - Conrad Friess, age 15, son of Jacob was confirmed (pg 230).

      6) 1777 - Johann Martin Friess, age 17, son of Jaocb was confirmed (pg 232)

      7) 1780 - Susanna Friessin, age 16, daughter of Jacob Friess was confirmed (pg 234)
