'A Song, Called Crawford's Defeat by the Indians'
"A Song, Called Crawford's Defeat by the Indians"
American folk ballad written about 1791 by Dr John Knight, survivor of the 1782 Crawford Expedition.

"There was brave Captain Hogland I will not go past,
He fought it out bravely while the battle did last;

Samuel of Thomas and Mercy Brigham was born 12 Nov 1652.

Note: indexed records say he was born 12 Jan 1652, instead of 12 Nov 1652. This is likely an indexing error (1 12 1652 vs 11 12 1652). The original birth record was not found, so the exact month is currently unknown.
