  • Notes
    • 1846 (1850 ae 4)

Buried: MecKendree Cemetery, McDowell Virginia William's first wife, Susan Bodkin was the sister to Elizabeth Ann Bodkin who married William's brother Eli. Along with his brothers, William was deeded 286 acres of land on bull Pasture Mountain (for which he paid $1.00), and he and his second wife signed the bill of sale when the land was sold to Samuel C. Eagle. We have his second wife's name as "Susan". But she made her mark on the paper and someone signed it for her, as "Susannah". On 1/10/1880 William signed the paper which deeded his share of his fathers land on Shaws Fork to his brother John E. Armstrong.
