    Wm Chapman Sr and Wm H Chapman were security to a bond of $300 paid by Louisa. The illegitimate child of Louisa will be supported. Louisa grants these men the following tract of land: 30 acres, lying in Bear Creek. This is the same land deeded to Louisa Nicholls by Wm Chapman Sr on 3 February 1854.

    If Wm Sr and Wm H Chapman shall ever have to pay part of the bond, then this deed will remain in full effect. But if they are never needed to pay the bond, then this deed will be null and void.

    Note: Louisa Nichols and William H Chapman are the children of William Chapman Sr.

    The minor children of Jones Chapman: William L, Louiza Catherine, Eliza, John, Sarah Caroline, and George W Chapman.

    Document 1: William L, Louiza Catherine, Eliza, and John Chapman are all over the age of consent (12 years old). They are entitled to a share of the estate of their grandfather, William Chapman. Because of their minority, there is no one authorized to receive their funds or look after their interests. They petition that J M Bowden may be appointed their guardian in chief, who will enter into a security bond.

    Document 2: Nancy Mary Ann Chapman petitions that Sarah Caroline and George W Chapman are minor children under the age of 12. They are entitled to a share of the estate of their late grandfather, William Chapman. Because of their age and minority, there is no one qualified to look after their funds and protect their interests. They petition that J M Bowden may be appointed their guardian in chief, who will enter into a security bond.
