Notes - Uncle Nick was from Bulgaria-he spelled his name Todoroff on his marriage license to Aunt Phoebe-they apparently later changed it to Toderoff because of phonetics. JHA 8/22/2000. One source shows their marriage at Washington, D.C. He apparently came to the U.S. at age 16. During my youth, he and Aunt Phoebe lived in Bridgewarer, Va., where he was the town cop. I have fond recollections of Uncle Nick. The highlight of my year was to get to spend a week or two with them every summer. JHA 3/2001
