Capt. David Phelps was born in Simsbury, CT on 26 Mar 1733-34. He married Abigail Griswold. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He died 17 Apr 1811. He had 9 children.

Abigail Phelps was the daughter of David Phelps and Abigail Griswold. She was born on 16 Nov 1754 in CT and died 17 Dec 1831 at the age of 77. She married Jared Merrill, son of Josiah [Israel] Merrill and Abigail Cadwell. They had 10 children (including Samuel Merrill).
