    Elizabeth H. Petersen, passed away on the 7th day of May, 1996. She was born on October 20, 1904, to Ann Bertha Petersen and Francis (Frank) Davis Hughes in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the oldest of six children: Robert Hughes, Francis Hughes Badger and Dale Hughes preceded her in death, she is survived by Louise Hughes Walpoe and Jack Hughes.

    She married Jesse R. Petersen on December 1, 1926, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Her husband, Jesse, passed away on May 15, 1995.She is survived by her four sons: Richard H. (Delmer) of Claremont, California; Larry (JoAnn) of Moses Lake, Washington; Dr. S. Keith (Barbara) of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Don R. (Carolyn) of Provo, Utah.

    Elizabeth was active in the LDS Church having served in various positions. She was active in community affairs. She served in the Republican Party where she met President Eisenhower and his wife, Mamie. She was a member of the Women's Legislative League, a member of the Salt Lake Literary Club, and past President of the Hyrum Literary Club.

    She and he husband, Jesse, farmed and ranched in Utah, Idaho and Washington. They traveled throughout the world. They enjoyed their companionship and are now once again reunited.

    There will be a viewing at the Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan, Utah, 34 East Center, on May 10, 1996, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

    Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on May 11, 1996, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan, Utah. There will be a viewing one hour before the funeral. The funeral will be conducted by Bishop Michael D. Salveson. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.

    Louise Walpole passed away in peace on Saturday, September 30, 2000 with her loving family by her side. Her beautiful spirit touched many far and wide and her life history is rich.
    Born Florence Louise Hughes in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 15,
    1915, she was fifth of six children born to Francis and Elizabeth Hughes. Her cherished siblings remained dear to her throughout her life. Louise grew to be a very active member in the Salt Lake City society.
    Her marriage in 1942 to Winnetka, Illinois' Robert Walpole, Jr. led them to many fine residences around the country -Bryn Mawr, PA, Louisville, KY, San Carlos, Orinda and Palos Verdes, CA, Wellsville, NY and Ellenton, Florida. Her wit, energy and creativity graced each home. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Louise volunteered countless hours of her time and energy helping to make the world a better place. She had recently resided in McKinney, TX.
    She is survived by her three children who will honor her memory for eternity, Bob Walpole of Newark, NY; Debbie Perkins of McKinney, TX; and Elizabeth Brown of Woodinville, WA.; as well as six grandchildren, Kym Morris, Ian Walpole, Emily Walpole, Alexanne Brown, Cory Brown and Kayla Perkins.
    The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
