The date about 1964. 'William F. Wegner, 86, resident of Spokane more than 83 years, died yesterday at Hawthorne Manor, E 101 Hawthorne, where he had lived since the retirement home opened in 1958. Born Nov. 6, 1880, in Independence, Ore., Mr. Wegner was brought to Spokane when just two and one-half years old by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand C. Wegner. He was a retired employe of Central Pre-Mix Concrete Co. and earlier had worked for the Charlie Schrimpf Hardware Co. Mr. Wegner is survived by his wife, Eva L., at the home, and a brother, Herman C., Spokane. Cremation was yesterday at Hazen & Jaeger's.'

After his death, his widow Eva Sperry Wegner, was being robbed and cheated in the Retirement Home (according to correspondence from her niece, Helen Boots). They had to get legal help to save the estate, which was considerable. After her death, her niece, being the executor, has given thousands in scholarships. (Bill) Will left his Wegner nephews and nieces nothing..."
