  • Notes
    • He is listed with his parents in "Croesen-Kroesen Family of Staten Island " by L.J. Roney, NYG&B rec. Vol 75, 974 B2n, pp 97-102.
His b. is deducted as 1666 for he was 40 yrs old in the 1706 census of Staten Island, New York
The date his will was proved 29 Apr 1761,is found in "Bergens, Early Settlers of Kings Co." bk. 974.723 D2b, p. 82. He moved to Staten Island on a 160 acre farm his father owned, but he did not move there until after his fathers death in March of that year(1680). Staten Island records disclose Hendrick as one of the foremost citizens of the Island, property owner, office holder and ancestor of the well known family of S.I. He was elected assessor in 1705 for the North precinct, was justice of the peace in 1721-23. He acted as arbitrator in a boundary dispute in 1723. He kept the records for the church & to quote a former minister "The handwriting of the entries is peculiarly beautiful." Hendrick was evidently an educated man. His information & that of his family is found in "The History of Staten Island" in the section on "Houses in Richmond County, S.I.", pp 141-142.
Three of his children md. Van Tuyls, a bro. Denys & 2 sisters Helena & Geertruyd.
