2009 DEATH,BURIAL: MO,Jasper Co-Joplin: Mildred E Woodward Rhodes, died 20 February 2009 at her home with family at her side. Buried Mt Hope Cemetery in Joplin, 27 February 2009.
NOTES: Called Mildred May 1992: "Newspapers were microfilmed. Called Columbia and they have some microfilmed.
Called again April 1994: "...papers were sent to Jefferson City..." Does not know what happened to them. Gave me a few dates of death for family. Sending sheets May 1994, Meshack Smith and down to our own selves, a second set for correction.

Mildred E Rhodes, age 90, Joplin, passed away on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, at 8:45 am at her home with family at her side. Mildred was born Feb. 26, 1918, in Browning, MO, daugher of the late Guilford T Woodward and Iola Fern Nickell Woodward. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a member of Royal Heights United Methodist Church. She married William R "Bill" Rhodes on Oct 25, 1935, in Linneus, MO. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Joe Woodward. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra R Tiedemann and husband, Hans, of Leesburg, Fla; and Meridith Gann and husband, Jim, of Lanagan MO; her sons Bruce Rhodes and wife, Joyce, of Joplin, and Darly L Rhodes and wife, Pam, of Cathage MO; grandchildren, Mark, Steven, Alan, Landon, Scott, Thom, Laura, Tammy and Misty; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, Feb 27, at 2pm at Royal Heights United Methodist Church with Pastor Tracy R Bair officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday, Feb 26, from 7 to 8pm. The family request that memorial contributions be made to Community Hospice of America or Mildred's Church. Online condolences may be made at parkermortuarycom.
