Final Rites Planned for Church Worker - Funeral services for Mrs. Rosara Obray Thomas, 81, 327 Eighth East St., prominent Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worker, who died on her eighty-first birthday in a local hospital Friday at 7 am of causes incident to age will be conducted Monday at 11 am in the Tenth Ward Chapel. Bishop Holger M Larsen will officiate.
Friends may call at 2350 East Thirteenth South St., Saturday, Sunday and Monday until 10 am. Friends are asked to call at the mortuary one half hour before services.
Additional services will be conducted Monday at 3 pm at the home of Mrs. John P James, Paradise, Cache County. Burial will be in Paradise City Cemetery.
Mrs Thomas organized and taught in the first LDS Sunday School in Portland, Oregon.
She was born Dec. 6, 1865, in Paradise, a daughtyer of Thomas L and Ruth B Obray, and had spent most of her life in Paradise. In 1882 she was married to William H Thomas in the Salt Lake Endowment House. Mr. Thomas died in 1914.
During the time she lived in Salt Lake, Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Tenth Ward Relief Society for the past nine years, performing numerous social and civic works of great benefit.
Survivors include nine sons and daughters: Mrs Beth Lemon, Salt Lake City; William O Thomas, Harold O Thomas, Mrs Caroline Compton, Mrs Martha J Holling, Mrs LaRue Wagner, all of Portland, Ore; Mrs Ada Wright, Murray; Mrs Louise Ranck, and Mrs Evelyn Billingsley, both of Los Angeles; nine brothers and sisters: Mrs Ada Long, Mrs Eva Lloyd, Mrs Nellie Davidson, all of Salt Lake; Mrs Hanna Miles, Las Vegas, Nev; Mrs Salina McArthur, Ogden; Mrs Lydia Oldham, Sacramento; Mrs Elizabeths Miles, Calgary, Canada; Charles Obray, Alberta, Canada; David Obray, Portland, Ore; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-granchildren.
