    Apparently Ann "outrageously assaulted a fellow bond-maiden, for which the former was prescribed three months in the Parramatta Factory, and to be shorn of one of "Nature's highest gifts to woman kind," her flowing tresses.

    Ann Westwater was charged with housebreaking. She was found with a white linen shift and cotton petticoat, the property of James Smith Mac, a solicitor in law. She was charged with Margaret Desley alias Duggan. Ann arrived in Sydney in 1827 after a voyage of 128 days. Ann was described as 16 years old, 5 feet 2 inches; fair freckled complexion; red to sandy hair; hazel grey eyes; a protestant; single; a nurse and housemade who can read.

    Ann was sent to the Parramatta Female Factory on arrival and then assigned to a master in Bathurst. A daughter Isabella was born to her, Ceasear McAllister was named as the father. Ann and Isabella were sent back to Parramatta Female Factory and the child was sent to the Parramatta Female Orphan School.

    A son William was born to Ann, his father was William Law. They were married in 1836. In later years the family lived in Greendale near Mulgoa. In 1857 they were at Back Creek near Bega, but returned to live in the Penrith District in their later years.

    Ann died in 1887 at Cranebrook, as a result of complications arising from a fracture of the arm which had to be amputated.
