Obituary - Ballston Journal - Sat., 2 May 1903:
"Mrs. Annie Butler died on Sunday, April 26th, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rhoda Shute, at Saratoga Springs, aged 90 years. She was a genial Christian lady and had many friends who will mourn her death. She is survived by five children, Frank Howard and Mrs. Rhoda Shute, of Saratoga, Mrs. Reliefa Rouse of Green Island, Mrs. Lazelle Gardner, and Henry Butler of this village also twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
The funeral was held on Tuesday at Saratoga Springs and interment made in the village here."

Obituary - Daily Saratogian - Mon., 27 Apr 1903:
"Mrs. Anna Butler died yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Rhoda Shute, No. 174 Grand avenue, aged 90 years, two months and eleven days. The deceased is survived by three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Shute of Saratoga, Mrs. Lazel Gardner of Ballston, and Mrs. Releffa Rouse of Troy, Frank Howard of Wilton and Henry Butler of Ballston.
The funeral will take place at the late residence at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon."

Funeral notice - Daily Saratogian - Tues., 28 Apr 1903:
"The funeral of Mrs. Anna Butler was held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the late residence on Grand avenue. The services were conducted by the Revs. Tileston F. Chambers and Frederick L. Decker, burial being made at Ballston."
