HIST: McAllister Manuscript, by Sarah McAllister Hartman pg 40 (handwritten): "...then we saw our older sis & bro-in-law coming to us... beyond bridge. Indians slowly crowded over bridge to meet them... they advanced, gave peace sign. Indians reluctantly let them pass; crossed bridge, came toward front gate, every part of which was lined with painted ugly Indians; like a pack of hungry wolves panting and thirsting for our blood; but afraid to attack, knowing only too well with whom they had to deal. Came in & greeted us most tenderly... we saw in their faces something more than fright; a horror we could feel but didn't know and they very unwisely kept it from us. Sis very kind... not let us talk to mother saying "mother not well - talking annoy her". Clipwaleon & Joe (bro-in-law) went to join boys still parleying with Indians outside... Joe & boys sat on floor with backs to wall & got what rest they could... boys hastily ate some food then accompanied by Joe sneaked out & went to hunt for team..."
pg 9 (typed version): "...Indian brought in at midnight, to take him out at 3:00 am. Came & stood trial, confessed that he & another Indian had killed father. Lights went out, shots heard. When relighted, Quilemuth shot & stabbed. Cleared Indian who killed father, but they tried every way to kill those who killed Quilemuth.
Early Hist Thurston Co, WA R929.741 B611Es pg 33: "...Qui-ee-muth, Leschi's bro, captured & guarded overnight. ...a man burst into room, shooting Indian & then stabbing him. Man not identified but impression gained credence that Joseph Buntin, s-i-l of McAllister committed the deed..."

Water was dripping from his clothes & horse. Stood in stirrups & talked to the Indians. Chipwaleon made way to bro...still parleying, boys pressed their way thru the crowd of Indians to front gate. Stopped again. (much noise, warring whoops, Indians inside taking things, planning to destory family)

"...my bro, boy of 17, although shot quite bad in the face, a portion of his lip being carried away and a bad abrasion just above the temple, he volunteered to go get help. I speak their language, know all their tricks, and I want to go to my mother, as I fear there is something wrong with father. He disguised himself as an Indian and lying on his stomach, crawled to where their horses were hidden but he couldn't see one of them. He remembered the Capt had tied his animal in a slough, so he crawled there... leading the horse a long way before he dared mount it to go for assistance, he crept to the woods.... met 2 Indians on road...Indians grabbed horse, Geo struck them down with rifle and kept on course. He arrived home a short time after Clipwaleaon, to find us all held
