Andrew J Hawkins shall have all of my personal estate. Dated 9 Dec 1874 and
shows John dec'd as of 20 Jul 1875.

Susan Skinner. John a founding member of Mt Horeb Baptist Church-1853. He is a
blacksmith and farmer. Rebecka born 1801/GA, died 15 Apr 1887, Boone Co, MO.
1880 in home of Andrew J Hawkins. Information from Wills, 1880 BB GA, NJ,GA,
CMH 21 Apr 1887.
Under son A J Hawkins (Migration) it shows John as English, Rebecca as
German, that they came to Boone Co, MO 1829, settled in Thrall's Prairie. Dau
Barsco Zelo md Wm M Butler.
Story in Baptists Hist: "When Mr Wm S Thompson (Rev) first came to
Bourbon TWP, he was considered a tramp. Called on Mr Hawkins, who was gone. His
son, Andrew J, a boy, followed Dr Thompson and asked why he wanted to see his
father. He told him it had to do with church. Was invited to stay overnight."
