231 | Alfred Summers Johnson and Deborah Hardy Family The card in the bottom right hand corner of this pictures states that the two children are Willis L. Johnson, age 4 and Joseph Johnson age 2. If this is true then the year would be 1880. However, per the 1880 census this would leave out Alfred (age 21), Lucy (age 17), Sarah (age 13), and Leonidas (age 11) which seems highly unlikely. Instead this picture is probably of an earlier date of 1864 with Alfred and Lucy ages 6 and 2. The card also states that Alfred was the first Justice of the Peace. However, the book by the Daughters of Utah Pioneers entitled "Builders of Uintah" stages that Wilbur "Will" Carlton Britt was the first Justice of the Peace on page 18. | ||
