Cook County Herald (Arlington Heights, Illinois 15 April 1921, Friday, Page 8
"Prof. Andrew C. Zenos, D.D. of McCormick Seminary Speaks at the Presbyterian Church - It had been seven years sine the Rev. Zenos spoke at the Presbyterian church, here. To his old friends his visit last Sunday was most welcome. He preached both morning and evening and his sermons were always evolved from deep thot and sure to make men think. His evening sermon was on the subject o the Brotherhood of Man and should have been heard by a larger audience. Indeed, one can but wonder where the young and even older men of our village betake themselves, when such a man as Dr. Zenos comes to speak to us. A man well admitted to be on of the finest scholars and deepest thinkers of our day: born in Athens, educated in Roberts College, Constantinople, he came to America at the age of 22 and after some tine at Lake Forest, entered Princeton, from there was graduated and in 1891, came to McCormick Seminary, where he was held the chairs of Grek, Hebrew, History, and other classics. Like Paul, Dr. Zenos has always had a care over all the churches and has come often to this church in Arlington Heights - in times of change or stress. He has been associated in the Presbytery with Rev. Jenkinson for many years. It was fine of our pastor to give us the opportunity of hearing him once more. And I am sure many heartily appreciate the privilege.

In 1912 the Sanborn Cram Company of Astoria, Oregon, built a cannery at Cannery Point (Cobb 1917:50). The Sanborn family had a long history in business and were part of Astoria’s affluent during the late 1800s; in 1889 under the name Astoria and Alaska Packing Company, George W. Sanborn and a partner built one of Alaska’s earliest canneries at Pavlof Harbor on Chichagof Island – across Chatham Strait midway between Funter Bay and Angoon (Cobb 1922:40).The same year they began the Burnett Inlet cannery, George W. Sanborn and his son Frank joined several other investors to form the Sanborn Cutting Company and built a cannery at Kake (District of Columbia Court of Appeals 1918:673-679; MacDonald 1949:33; Mobley 2009). The two companies were based in Astoria and for a time were contemporaries – both firms exhibited at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco (Wahlgreen Company 1915). By1920 a large portion of the Astoria waterfront was taken up by the docks and warehouses of George W. Sanborn and Sons (Pacific Fisherman 1920:21), at a time when the elder Sanborn was one of the city’s three port commissioners (Special Correspondent 1918:142).

That amount also includes $5 which she says she paid on a gas bill of her employer's, and $3.50 which she says is due her for a gold pin he borrowed and did not return.
