I recently located a picture of Lydia Ann (Stonehocker) McKay and her husband George. Lydia was the daughter of William M. and Elizabeth C. (Lamm) Stonehocker. I suspect that the picture must date to about 1890 since they are accompanied by only one child in the picture. The child must surely be Stella since she was thier oldest. My information places the family as living in Barneston, Nebraska at that time.

Additional notes for William: Burial records at Delta, Co. indicate William's middle initial as "H". His wife's death certificate indicates his middle initial as "M". Other sources indicate William's middle initial as being "Henry". William once owned land in the Carthage/ Lamar, Missouri area. He owned the land around 1918-1920 before moving back to Colorado. He had lived in the south eastern area of Colorado before moving to Missouri but chose to live in the southwestern part of the state near Delta upon his return to the state. William was originally buried in an unmarked grave but Verlie has told me that he recently purchased a gravestone for William's grave. Source: Verlie Stonehocker

Additional notes for Mary Etta: She has no headstone, The family bible which is in the possession of Verlie D. Stonehocker states that she died of comsumption. Verlie also has a locket of her hair.

Additional notes for Lydia: Though the family bible, of which is in the possession of Verlie Stonehocker, records Lydia as being buried in Guthrie Co., Ok. it should be taken into account that Guthrie Co. was renamed after Oklahoma become a state. Guthrie Co., is now known as Logan Co.

Notes that I have entered in my files for Mary (Pew) Stonehocker read as such. "Information for Mary's death taken from the May 31, 1880 U.S. Federal Mortality Schedule. Died of pericadis or inflamation/ infection around the heart. Information concerning her burial place was taken from the Iowa Gravestone Registration. It records her as being buried at the Salem New Cemetery . Jean Leeper, a local genealogist of the Salem area visited the gravesite which is now (2008) known as the Salem East Cemetery, located near Salem , Iowa . Jean took pictures of the Mary's gravestone and states that she believes that the date of death is Aug. 18, 1879. This date would match the 1880 U,S, Federal Mortality Schedule so it can be considered as confirmation. Information for Mary (Pew) is current as of April 6, 2008." Additionally, I think I recall Sandra telling me that Loya was able to confirm that Mary's maiden name was actually "Pew" so I have dropped the "Pugh" from from my files.
