Elizabeth H. Petersen, passed away on the 7th day of May, 1996. She was born on October 20, 1904, to Ann Bertha Petersen and Francis (Frank) Davis Hughes in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the oldest of six children: Robert Hughes, Francis Hughes Badger and Dale Hughes preceded her in death, she is survived by Louise Hughes Walpoe and Jack Hughes.

She married Jesse R. Petersen on December 1, 1926, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Her husband, Jesse, passed away on May 15, 1995.She is survived by her four sons: Richard H. (Delmer) of Claremont, California; Larry (JoAnn) of Moses Lake, Washington; Dr. S. Keith (Barbara) of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Don R. (Carolyn) of Provo, Utah.

Elizabeth was active in the LDS Church having served in various positions. She was active in community affairs. She served in the Republican Party where she met President Eisenhower and his wife, Mamie. She was a member of the Women's Legislative League, a member of the Salt Lake Literary Club, and past President of the Hyrum Literary Club.

She and he husband, Jesse, farmed and ranched in Utah, Idaho and Washington. They traveled throughout the world. They enjoyed their companionship and are now once again reunited.

There will be a viewing at the Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan, Utah, 34 East Center, on May 10, 1996, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on May 11, 1996, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan, Utah. There will be a viewing one hour before the funeral. The funeral will be conducted by Bishop Michael D. Salveson. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
