  1. 1.  Jaques Guion was born Abt 1658, St. Martins, Ile de Re, Charente-Maritime, France; died 1 Dec 1694, , Richmond, New York, United States.

    Notes:

    In Oct 1664,Guion received a grant of 200 acres on Staten Island & settled there. His marriage in 1680 says he was from St. Martin in France: sources were Records of the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church of Flatbush , 1 :224-25, & Rikers, Revised History of Harlem, 198n.

    He was the progenitor of this family in America and settled on Staten Island principally because of his receipt in 1664 of a land grant consisting of "two hundred acres of land on Staten Island".Jaques Guyon resided on his property located in Old-Town (New Dorp) district on the North end of Staten Island.
    Jaques Guyon's will was proved on 1 Dec 1694, his widow, Sarah, qualifying as elecutrix. In 1699, it is recorded that she paid a mortgage on the estate and seems to have held posession of the property until after 1703. Source ; Staten Island & It's People : A History 1609- 1929 ,5 Vols.     Jaques married Sarah Casier 29 Feb 1680, Brooklyn Flatbush Dutch Reformed Church, Kings, New York, United States. Sarah (daughter of Philippe Casier and Marie Taine) was born 10 Sep 1662, Harlem, New York, New York, United States; died Aft 1703, , Richmond, New York, United States. [Group Sheet]
