    Obit Nov 4 1937 pg 67: "James Brassfield, son of Abner and Mahala Johnson Brassfield born 25 Sep 1844 near old Lindley died at home north of Browning 29 Oct 1937. A Civil War Veteran and farmer. Reared by uncle Sampson Johnson being left an orphan at 2. Enlisted in Co E 44th MO Inf. 14 Aug 1856 married Rachel Hoover who died 20 Jul 1906. 6 children: Samuel C of Seletz OR; Preston died 7 Jan 1931; John Edward died 12 Jun 1881; Elizabeth Hoselton, Parson H and James Warner all of Browning. Buried Hoover Cemetery."

    Obit Feb 7 1952, pg 20: "Edgar Cecil Hoselton, born 7 July 1911 to Arthur D and Elizabeth Brassfield Hoselton. Buried 2 Feb 1952 Price Cemetery south of Winigan. 12 Mar 1932 wed Frances Baker who survives with son Earl Keith and father of the home; sister Pearle Thurlo and brother J T, both Browning; nephews Ray Hoselton, armed forces in Korea; Paul Hoselton and Henry A Thurlo. Mother died in 1942."

    1900-1906 HIST: Browning Centennial Celebration pg 145: "The family then moved to Browning for the next six years, 1900-1906. Because of failing health, Mr Thurlo resigned his position and moved to the farm west of Browning. His health improved and he continued farming in the same area until his death... Mr Thurlo was very civic minded and always took an active part in community activities..."
    Descendants pg 8-2: " and about 1899-1900 accepted the position of cashier of the Farmers Exchange Bank of Browning which ill health forced him to resign in April 1906... He soon resumed farming and raising stock on his farm 5 miles west of Browning. He continued to hold a vice-presidents" position of the bank and was a heavy stock holder. He served 2 terms as tax collector of Duncan Twp. He was a staunch Democrat, as was his father, and was also active in church and civic affairs..."
