Because of failing health, Mr Thurlo resigned his position and moved to the farm west of Browning. His health improved and he continued farming in the same area until his death... Mr Thurlo was very civic minded and always took an active part in community activities..."
Descendants pg 8-2: " and about 1899-1900 accepted the position of cashier of the Farmers Exchange Bank of Browning which ill health forced him to resign in April 1906... He soon resumed farming and raising stock on his farm 5 miles west of Browning. He continued to hold a vice-presidents" position of the bank and was a heavy stock holder. He served 2 terms as tax collector of Duncan Twp. He was a staunch Democrat, as was his father, and was also active in church and civic affairs..."
