I, George Smith, of Scottsville, Sullivan County, make this my last will. I give, devise and bequeath my estate and property, real and personal, that is to say:
First, I give an bequeath unto my wife, Mahala Smith, the following real estate towit: Lots 1,2,3 and 4 in Block no. 1 in the town of Scottsville and all the household and kitchen furniture and also one choice cow and $1000 to be kept on interest for the use of my wife. She can use the principal if necessary and at her death, to be divided equally among my living children.
And I bequeath to my son, James F Smith (dec'd) and his dau Elizabeth, the sum of $200. And I bequeath unto my son Albert J Smith,dec'd,his 4 children as follows: Mary B Smith the sum of $200, & Laura J Smith the sume of $200, & Marcus M Smith the sum of $200, and Rosa G(J) Smith the sum of $200, and Matilda F Smith the sum of $5.00.
And I bequeath unto my dau Nancy E Scott, dec'd, 2 children as follows: Minnie F Scott, the sum of $200 and Mahala J Scott the sum of $200.
And I want all my property sold, and after paying funeral expenses and all just debts, I want the balance equally divided between my five children, William R Smith, Thomas H Smith, Lurinda F(I,J) Fields, Ann E Thurlo, and Mary C Thurlo.
