Notes: Cemetery notes and/or description: This old cemetery is now among those on the verge of extinction; grown up in vines and trees with numerous stones overturned, buried, or broken. In the Caledonia region of Lowndes County, it is also the burying ground of the old Salem Independent Presbyterian Church, and directly connected with the story of this anti-slavery and pro-Union group who dared to stand for what they believed when public opinion was very much against them.
