Tombstone baseball team

Photo caption reads: Tombstone residents became early baseball enthusiasts. The man in the top hat is Robert "Sandy Bob" Crouch, a native of Ohio, who started a Tombstone stage business in 1880 and ran stagecoaches to Bisbee and Fairbank. In 1883 he bought the Gordon Ranch and put his son in charge until Apache raids forced the sale of the property. Sandy Bob also supplied wood to the Copper Queen Company in Bisbee. In 1895, Crouch moved to Mexico City and died at Guadalajara on September 10, 1908. (Courtesy Arizona Historical Society)
