One time my brother-in-law Ray Pelton was up to see Uncle Tom and he asked Ray to stay to dinner. Ray looked at his bread board where he mixed his sour dough biscuits and Uncle Tom had several mouse traps lined up along the edge of the bread board. Ray thanked him and said he had better be getting home..."

My mother was a wonderful woman too and Papa loved her very much. He never married again. Not that he wouldn't have had a chance as he was very popular and so much fun.
He and Uncle Bill were such pals and went everywhere together with me tagging along and loving every minute of it. We had so much fun. I was so far behind the rest of the other children in age that I was with Papa so long alone and we got along just fine alone too..."
