Notes - I emailed Evan Broussard who had a family tree on Ancestry.com, requestin g the obit that was listed on the family tree.
The obit is with a note from Evan: "charles was born in Nebraska, Augus t 18, 1885. Sept 20, 1919 he married Rachel Cordelia Young in Oakdale, Al len, Louisiana. The 1930 census has them living in Beauont, Jefferson, Te xas, ward 7. Sometime after that they moved back to Oakdale. The son, C.G .(Charles GODFORD. they made a mistake on the birth certificate, and hi s parents kept the name) was a pharmacist in Oakdale. He is the only on e still living.

OAKDALE, (Spl)- Charles G. Clauss, 78, a retired merchant, died at 7:30pm , Saturday in the Oakdale infirmary. Times of services in the West Baptis t church will be announced from the Ardoin funeral home. Rev. Frank Lawre nce will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery. Masonic rite s will be conducted at the graveside. He is survived by his wife, one son , C.G. Clauss of Oakdale;one daughter, Mrs. Rachel Belt of Beaumont, Texa s, one brother, Otto Clauss of Benton Harbor, Mich., and two grandchildre n.
