      Her maternal grandmother was Joan Newton, dau of Roger Newton (History of Windsor, Vol 2, p. 565. Family 4, Joseph Phelps, whose wife was Joan's sister.
      On her father's side Elizabeth was a great-grandaughter of John Drake, who was one of the Council of Plymouth, and a member of the Company established by King James in 1606, for settling New England.
