  Birth: Nov. 8, 1941 Arizona, USA Death: Jun. 9, 2013 Salt Lake City Salt Lake County Utah, USA Mary Ja Neanne Allen Webster our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Friend and Queen of Crafts joined her husband on June 9, 2013 in her Salt Lake City home surrounded by her children after a brave battle with cancer. On November 8, 1941 she was born to her loving parents, Gove Liahona Allen and Mary Magdalene Pace and had three brothers in Tucson, Arizona. She spent most of her youth in Mesa, Arizona and a few summers in Greeley, Colorado where her parents completed their masters programs. She went to Mesa High School where she acted as the Fine Arts Commissioner, sang in Acapella, was crowned Superstition Queen and never missed a single dance. Her blood truly ran purple and gold. Her favorite activity was spending nights dancing at the Mazona. After high school, she attended ASU and then transferred to BYU where she graduated with a BA. She majored in Art and minored in Journalism. After graduation, she was offered a position at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. She was one of only three candidates to be selected nationally. After her experience at Hallmark, she moved to Salt Lake to pursue her desires of owning her own art business. She rented office space from James William Webster, who she later loved and married. Jim and Ja Neanne eloped to the Laie Hawaiian Temple in 1967. They moved to a house on Second Avenue where their oldest two children were born. They moved to First Avenue where they had three more children and lived the rest of their lives. Ja Neanne was an active member in the LDS Church residing in the Emigration Stake 27th and 27th East Wards. She held many various ward and stake callings in Relief Society, Young Womens and Primary. Her favorite calling was Art Director at Girls Camp. She was active in PTA and was elected PTA President multiple times. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was on the Board of Directors and a committee member of the Days of '47 for 34 years. She made thousands of craft projects for Family Fun Day. She loved and admired her ancestors and never grew tired of learning about them. Her biggest talent was finding a way to connect anyone to Arizona or to her relatives or her friends or her friends of friends relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Gary. She is survived by her five children: Heidi (Darrin), Hillary (Logani), Jim (Kim), Alex (Janelle) and Amanda (Nate) and her eleven grandchildren: Madison, Toni, Paige, Elizabeth, Allison, Jackson, Eleanor, Caroline, Henry, Suzanne, and Mary Ja Neanne. Ja Neanne believed in standing for the right. The impact of her life cannot be measured by words and will be felt for generations to come. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Huntsman Cancer Institute and also those that took great care of her at the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service for Ja Neanne on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Federal Heights Ward, 1300 E. Fairfax Rd., Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held on Wed. June 12, 2013 from 6-8:00 pm at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple and from 10-10:45 am at the chapel prior to the service.
