Obituary [S422] Internet: Ancestry.com. Hans Tiedemann, 76, of Leesburg, Fla., died Sunday, June 28, 2009 after bravely battling many illnesses over the last 16 years. He was born in Northport, LI, N.Y., to John Tiedemann and Margaret Mains Tiedemann. He was very proud to be a first generation American. He moved to Leesburg 10 years ago from Atlanta, Ga. He was a veteran of the Air Force during the Korean War serving in Germany, where he met all of his German relatives. He was retired from Delta Airlines after 36 years, working in Newark, Tampa and Atlanta where he worked in Flight Control for 28 years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra; sons, Mark Richard and wife, Beth of Mt. Lebanon, Pa., and Steven Gregory and wife, Gina of Mableton, Ga.; grandchildren, Jeremy Richard and Maggie Tiedemann of Mt. Lebanon; sister, Anneliese Case and husband, Forest of Leesburg; a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Leesburg. Hans was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His Christian faith was very precious to him. Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg. Funeral services will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. with burial in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla., at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Hans to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, marked local food bank.
