      Evang-Luth Parish in Weissdorf/Oberfranken, Germany-shows him as father, a farmer from Wulmersreuth, living at Residence #8. Research done by Karl Walther in Germany 1995 shows lived there 1798-1839, which was also his father's home. Godfather: Thomas Seifferth, sole son of farmer Georg Seifferth in Wulmersreuth. Bn 11:30 pm. Weissdorf reg 163-7, 1798, pg151 #30.

      1839 IMMIGRATION: Don Walther, Jefferson City, MO: Thomas and family immigrated in 1839, landed in New
      Orleans and came up river to east of Jefferson City MO. Another son may have drowned on way to Jeff City. In Evangelical Parish in Weissdorf, says children "immigrated to N America with parents".
      Karl Walther, GY 1994 sent copy of "Sales of Farms before emmigration 1839 showing Johann Thomas Walther in Wulmersreuth sold #298 & 1/2 farm #8 to Joseph Goller on 2 Aug 1838 for $1909 US. Also on 2 Nov 1838 he sold #294b & 1/4 farm #16 in Wulmersreuth to Johann Adam Zenkel for $1632 US.

      1868 DEATH,BURIAL: MO,Cole Co-East Jefferson City: Johann Thomas Walther died 27 Aug 1868; buried in Walther Cemetery on hill behind old home on Algoa Road, E Jeff City.

      NOTES: Evangelical records show a John C Walther died March 1912 and George W. Walther was appointed executor in 1913. Also a Johann Walther died July 21, 1885 (68 yrs old-born approx 1817). Family?
      Don Walther 3/1991: Says that Walther and Wagner were together in business down on dock at Moreau and Missouri River dock. Warehouse built by Walther and Wagner joined him. Commerce down from warehouse, had orchards. John Adam had a house down by Missouri River and floods came. Moved part of log cabin up on hill and built around by Adolph Walther. Thomas built home up on hill, part of which is remaining. The main road to St Louis went in front of home on hill. The railroad tracks went across Ewing property below (where Algoa is now)
      by Ewing Station (where reformatory is now).
