I understood he was killed or shot somewhere West. Then Mrs Curtis, whose maiden name was Princess E Thurlo md Albert J Smith...lived together in my neighborhood as husband and wife until said Albert died... Mrs Princess E Smith lived in this neighborhood after Smith's death and until she died on the farm of her brother, Columbus Thurlo. She lived at the time with her son Marcus M Smith... never remarried..."
      Descendants of John and Abigail Thurlo: "Princess lived most of her life in and around Sullivan County, and was affectionately called Aunt 'Pink' by all the children, whether related or not, and by her old brother Columbus, who probably started the nickname by teasing her when they were growing up. Princess, being skilled in the use of a needle, supported and raised her family by being not just a seamstress but tailor as well. Her customers included men wanting her suits as often as women wanting her dresses."
