    1) John Middleton of San Francisco and Charles Bouttier were partners of the Trinidad & San Jose Silver Mining Company.
    2) Leopoldo Bouttier was the superintendent of the Trinidad & San Jose Silver Mining Company.
    3) Leopoldo was maltreated and abused as a prisoner.
    4) Leopoldo was made prisoner because he was French.
    5) Leopoldo died from the effects of his imprisonment.
    6) Carlos Galen learned this information from Mexican officers.

    • Leopoldo's brother Carlos made appeal to the U.S. government to aid in the release of Leopoldo from prison in Mazatlan to no avail.

I think there is a mistake in the date of birth of Leopoldo Jose, should be 1826, because his father Juan Bautista born in 1802, on the other hand his son Leopold born circa 1861 and Ignacia freight born in 1816, the difference between Leopoldo Jose you can not be 30 years, 15 years would have had their first child at birth
