    • When the average income was $1,368 the 1940 census shows Luciano making $1,820 per month as a Radio Engineer working 40 hours a week and 52 weeks a year. This is an amazing feat considering Luciano had only been a U.S. citizen since 30 November 1934. His choice of a technical occupation leaves him and his family virtually unaffected by the Great Depression (1930's - 1940's).
